About Thunder Sons

Thunder Sons Coffee Company started the way most family businesses do — around a kitchen table, with more ambition than equipment. What we did have was a shared conviction: coffee is better when it's roasted with intention, by people who actually care whether your Saturday morning cup is good.

Our name comes from Mark 3:17, where Jesus gives James and John the nickname “Boanerges” — Sons of Thunder. It's a small detail in scripture, but it stuck with our family as a picture of bold, wholehearted work. That's the standard we hold our roasting to: no shortcuts, no filler, no coffee we wouldn't drink ourselves.

Every bag that leaves our roastery here in Colorado is roasted in small batches, logged by hand, and packed by a member of our family — not a warehouse crew. We're still small enough to taste-test every roast profile before it ships, and we plan to stay that way.
